Course Overview
Experienced Dinghy Instructors will learn how to deliver a Dinghy Instructor Course whilst working alongside the Chief Instructor (or Deputy Chief Instructor). Candidates will be expected to teach a number of Classroom and on-water sessions whilst providing Instructor candidates with appropriate feedback, both written and verbal. This course incorporates continuous assessment.
Course Prerequisites
Be a qualified Dinghy Instructor with a minimum of 2 years teaching or training experience. Availability to run instructor training courses is a must, so you need to be able to commit to being available to run such activities. A recommendation from an affiliated Cook Islands Sailing Club is desirable.
Who should do this course?
Experienced Dinghy Instructors with exceptionally high personal standards, a passion for teaching/training and the desire to develop others in the Instructor role.
Course Outcome
Successful candidates will be qualified to deliver Dinghy Instructor Courses at the request of Sailing Cook Islands. They will be expected to assist with the development of sailing as a sport in the Cook Islands.
Pending your success, you will gain the Dinghy Senior Instructor appointment certificate.
